Nearly every piece of equipment we stock can be hired on a daily, weekly or monthly basis (excluding stairlifts). A small refundable deposit is required, and you can either collect the equipment yourself or we will deliver it to your door for a small charge (see Home Deliveries). Please note a charge is incurred for both delivery and for collection at the end of the period of hire.

When you hire any Scooter or Wheelchair (powered or Manual) from Adapt-ABILITY, you are automatically covered by our insurance for theft and Public Liability within Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Channel Islands and Republic of Ireland. This means that you will not have to reimburse us if the hired item is stolen or damaged (subject to an excess of £250). Also, if you are involved in any accident involving the hired item which is a result of faulty equipment supplied by us, our insurance covers the equipment, yourself, your carer and any other third party involved in the accident. If you are taking our equipment abroad, please let us know and we will try to add the necessary cover to our policy.
Unfortunately, we are not permitted to cover you for theft in any country other than specified above, unless arranged by prior agreement. We are also not permitted to provide cover for accidents involving negligence by yourself or a carer where our equipment is not faulty. If you or your carer caused a motor accident, for example, by careless use of your scooter or wheelchair, you may be liable to pay compensation for damage or injury to third parties. We advise you to take out your own insurance to cover such eventualities - many household insurance policies will allow you to add this cover at a modest cost.
